The Graduate Program in Applied Computing - PPGCA aims to train highly qualified human resources to work in the productive sector. The Program's activities are based on:

  • Generating scientific knowledge that helps generate income and employment, contributing to regional development.
  • Training professionals capable of meeting the demands of the regional productive sector.
  • Developing new products, services, processes and patents that contribute to increasing the competitiveness of companies in the region.
  • Encouraging entrepreneurship and the creation of new companies.

Lines of Research

Characterized by designing, developing, applying, and exploring analytical models (statistics, artificial intelligence, database) to perform intelligent crossing of data and information, to make it possible to build knowledge (and discover patterns) applicable to the planning of more appropriate strategies and actions for decision-making.

Characterized by the use of mathematical methods and computer simulation in the modeling and optimization of systems and processes.

Characterized by research and development of software, firmware and mathematical methods embedded in dedicated devices.
