Admission to the Graduate Program in Philosophy at the Universidade de Caxias do Sul (UCS) is conducted in accordance with the regulations outlined in a specific public call for applications (Edital), issued annually by the University. The selection process takes place during the second semester of each year and is administered by the Admissions Committee appointed by the Graduate Program Council.
Admission is competitive and may include the following stages, as determined by the Graduate Program Council.
Each stage is evaluated according to academic merit and alignment with the research lines of the Program.
On a periodic basis, the Program may admit non-degree students outside of the formal admissions process. These candidates are not required to sit for the selection exams and may enroll in individual courses, subject to availability and approval by the Academic Council.
Admission as a non-degree student is contingent upon evaluation of the applicant's curriculum by the Admissions Committee. Acceptance in this category does not confer the status of regular enrollment, nor does it entitle the student to pursue a Master's or Doctoral degree within the Program.
