With a new vision of the academic world and the strength of an internationally recognized faculty, the Postgraduate Program in Administration (PPGA-UCS) is unique in Brazil. Its main characteristic is to establish a perfect balance between the academic world and the business world and to interact with the community (public and private sector) to generate and disseminate relevant knowledge, capable of being applied to its context, seeking, in a scientific way the endogenous production of solutions that make the regional development process positive and sustainable.
Our pedagogical strategy, based on the pragmatic approach, is the differential of our Masters and Doctoral courses, which allow the convergence between fundamental research and a business purpose. To this end, the Program encourages convergence between two specific profiles. First, it generates high level actors who will act as managers or experts specialized in identifying and implementing solutions to complex organizational problems. Second, it trains skilled researchers to develop a realistic and pragmatic view of business management as well as to use a rigorous approach in analyzing organizational problems.
The academic orientation of the Program favors the transfer of knowledge to the means of practice. The PPGA-UCS is characterized by the great importance attributed to the application of knowledge, to the resolution of organizational problems and to decision-making. It focuses on the practical repercussions of research and responds effectively to the current needs of society.
The type of Dissertation or Thesis instigates the students to carry out a rigorous investigation, thus contributing to the advancement of knowledge in management and its transference in the organizational environment.
This guideline ensures the relevance of research to the world of management. The international character of the Program, involving six research languages (German, Spanish, French, English, Portuguese and Russian), favors learning and access to knowledge, experience and research carried out in different parts of the world.
