Curricular Structure

The set of disciplines, particularly as it is an academic program, reflects, in its interfaces and specificities, a close connection with research. At the same time, without losing the harmony with society and market, ends up focusing its concern with the contemporary issues in the areas of Tourism and Hospitality, identifying and analyzing advances and, in a cycle of feedback, contributing to the perspectives of research needs and potentialities. Taking into account the inter / transdisciplinary that, due to the nature of Tourism and Hospitality, permeates the respective studies, the curricular structure reflects possibilities of transit between different areas of knowledge.

For the Master Program

With a minimum total of 30 (thirty) credits, we have the following curricular structure:

  • 16 (sixteen) credits in compulsory courses:
  • Epistemology and Research Methods
  • Historical-conceptual evolution of Tourism
  • Tourism and Regional Development
  • Education in the Contemporaneity and Pedagogical Practice

4 (four) credits in elective course:

  • Tourism and Hospitality
  • Tourism, Organization and Management
  • Tourism and Culture
  • Tourism and Psychology
  • Urban and Regional Planning
  • Environmental Management and Sustainability

4 (four) credits in Advanced Studies Seminars;

6 (six) credits for the Masters dissertation.

For the Doctorate Program

With a minimum total of 50 (fifty) credits, the following curricular structure is established:

16 (sixteen) credits in compulsory courses

  • Thesis Seminar 1
  • Thesis Seminar 2
  • Epistemology of Tourism and Hospitality
  • Pedagogical Practices in Tourism

8 (eight) credits in electives (disciplines shared with the Master)

12 (twelve) credits in Advanced Study Seminars;

12 (twelve) credits for thesis;

2 (two) in Complementary Activities.

* Each credit corresponds to 4 hours.
