PPGMAT has established partnerships with several foreign institutions, including the European School of Materials - Saarland University and Fraunhofer Institut for Material and Beam Technology (Germany); Institut Jean Lamour, Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine and Université d´Orléans (France); Istituto di Chimica Industriale da Università degli studi di Genova and the surface treatment group at Università degli studi di Padova (Italy); Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (Mexico), Universidade de Aveiro (Portugal) and Linköping University (Sweden).
In conjunction with the UCS undergraduate course in Materials Engineering and the École Européene d´Ingénieurs en Génie des Materiaux (EEIGM), PGMAT is part of the International Materials Education program, which provides UCS-EEIGM double Master's degrees.
